We know what it means to operate a "by referral only" service. We did it in Silicon Valley, CA for 12 of the 16 years we operated our service there. It means calls that go like this, " We heard about you from a friend. How soon can you come to clean our ...?" When we heard, "How much do you charge for ...?", we would ask, "How did you get our number?" Our name was about four pages over, halfway down the column in the yellow pages under carpet cleaning. Sure enough, they found it. And they were still shopping for the lowest price.
Since returning to my old stomping grounds, we had to start over from scratch. This means a lot of money goes into advertising which is very ineffective. We know we need to build a clientele of people who like to refer their friends to us - people just like you. And birds of a feather flock together. You can send the ebook above as an attachment to your whole e-mail contact list (what a nice gift from a good friend - friends don't let friends pay full retail) or you can print it out and copy it and send or hand them out, stick them on the bulletin board, whatever you can think of.
