We now offer complete wood floor refinishing, from dustless "chemical prep and recoat" (complete in one day without sanding on floors with dull or slightly scratched finishes - like "Mr. Sandless"), to complete "sand and refinish", which may involve replacing ruined boards, sanding out gouges and deep scratches, filling or patching, staining, and applying 2 or 3 coats of new finish.
The photos above are from my living room which required replacement of 10 or 12 boards at the front door where water came in, sanding out deep scratches and gouges from moving furniture around, sanding out the grooves put in by the drum sander on the original finish operation, adding a red mahogany stain, and finish with two coats of Bona Traffic, an excellent water-based system.
This video of Edna's bedroom demonstrates the need to remove drum sander grooves on most wood floor refinish jobs. This floor sanded out very nicely (including dark areas caused by cat urine), stained beautifully, and was coated again with 2 coats of Bona Traffic.

This video is of my guest bedroom which had little finish left (not quite as bad as the living room above), lots of drum sander grooves. I stained it with the same red mahogany and used a Basic water-based system of sealer and three coats of Streetshoe.

This video is of my master bedroom. It involves all aspects of repair, replace boards, sand out grooves and scratches as you will see. This time, I did not stain, but applied a Glitsa 2-coat Swedish finish which uses one coat of solvent-based sealer and one coat of solvent-based finish. The video really doesn't do justice to any of these pretty floors, especially the Swedish finish. I was very happy with the rate at which the solvent finish cured out and stopped emitting the solvent fumes with good ventilation - about 12 hours. After about 5 hours, we set the fan in the window blowing out for another 6-12 hours and found the room quite habitable with little effect on the rest of the house. Admittedly, this result would be tricky in the winter with the pilot lights off for several hours. (This is not necessary with the water-based finishes).
